Bathroom Design Tips – How to Organize Your Bathroom for Maximum Efficiency…

While kitchen, garages and family rooms are often at the top of the list for homeowners request for reorganization, one of the most essential rooms in the house is often the bathroom. Since the bathroom is the first place most of us visit each morning and the last before getting into bed time spent in there can set the tone. Bathroom’s tend to get ignored because people are so used to them, but they are a common part of our daily lives and everyone should make some room to groom.

Bathroom Cabinets and Drawers

The drawers and cabinets in the bathroom are some of the most cluttered areas of the house. Clutter causes stress and time wasted and stress is a horrible way to start a day. There are many skin care products, makeup, shampoos and teeth care item to store in the bathroom. Whittle down what you actually use each day and store them neatly in baskets and trays. Add labels to your baskets and trays store them in the drawers and clear the counters. Throw away items you have not used in past week, determining need is the key.

Go Back to Basics

Today’s beauty regimens for both men and women are a bit over the top these days. Go for the “Less is More” attitude and you will be happier. All you really need is a good cleanser and neutral pH. For those who use makeup, make sure it includes SPF and more importantly have night cream with vitamin C or retinol to help fight the signs of aging. The rest of the beauty care products are not really needed.

Declutter

If you don’t use it, lose it. In any bathroom cabinet, you’ll find products that Simply Don’t Work. Toss mascara every six weeks and do a seasonal cleaning of cosmetics. If that blush hasn’t been used for six months, get rid of it. A recent organization survey showed that 67 person of respondents would save up to 30 minutes each day if they didn’t have to contend with clutter.

After You Organize and Declutter, You Can Maximize and Get Creative

People say they want storage but what they really want is organization. Be creative. The creativity extends even to inside drawers. Install electrical outlet there to accommodate the hair dryer, chargers and electric toothbrushes. Helpful products also can add an element of fun and beauty to the bathroom by personalizing it with art. Look for baskets, trays or other things at yard sales or flea markets. These items can give your bathroom a personal look.
